Frequently Asked Questions

  • What will therapy be like?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you in, your goals, and what you can expect from therapy. It’s also a time for you to ask any questions. After that, the sessions may all look different. Sometimes we may just talk, sometimes we might focus on a worksheet or learning something new, other times we might do something more hands on like creating tools as coping skills.

  • Do I need to have a “big” problem to come to therapy?

Not at all. Therapy is a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals—whether you’re going through something major or just feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

  • Is therapy confidential?

Yes. What you share in therapy stays between us, with a few exceptions for safety (like if someone is at risk of harm). I’ll go over these limits clearly in our first meeting.
