Individual psychotherapy 50 minute session: $130
Are you able to directly bill my insurance for services?
Insurance and Payment Information
One of the common questions I receive is whether I accept insurance. While I do not bill insurance companies directly, your insurance may still cover your therapy sessions. Here’s how it works:
Why I Don’t Bill Insurance Directly:
Confidentiality: Using insurance can compromise your privacy, as insurance companies gain access to personal information that becomes part of your permanent record. This can also affect your insurance rate.
Control: Insurance companies often dictate the frequency and duration of therapy sessions. By paying privately, you have the flexibility to decide how often and how long you wish to continue therapy.
Costs: Insurance co-pays can be as high as 50% of the session fee.
Making Therapy Affordable:
Reimbursement: I can provide you with documentation, including a diagnosis code and visit dates, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many insurance plans offer "Out of Network" coverage that may reimburse you for my services.
Health Savings Accounts: I accept credit cards, including Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards, which can be used to pay for my services. These accounts may reimburse you for 100% of the session fee.
I allocate a percentage of client sessions for a sliding scale fee structure to assist those who may have difficulty affording the full cost. If you believe this option would be beneficial for your situation, please reach out to inquire.
I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to understand your benefits and explore your options for reimbursement. This approach not only maintains your confidentiality but can also be more cost-effective in the long run.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service. I appreciate your cooperation in ensuring timely payments to facilitate seamless and effective care. Cash, check, all major credit cards and Health Savings & Flex Spending Account Cards are accepted for payment. Feel free to discuss any payment questions prior to your appointment.
Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified the office at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
● You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
● Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
● If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
● Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
